Written on 7:56 AM by Annush

The latest in a very long line see’s the Sony Ericsson C510 join the illustrious Cyber-Shot family. The Cyber-shot brand has become a Sony heritage, it guarantees picture quality! The camera system is tried and tested to fulfil the requirements for a true Cyber-shot device. Stylish design and reliable performance come with the territory, too. So just bring your Cyber-shot phone, and you’re always ready to catch that special moment.

The brilliantly clear 2.2’’ display lets your images shine. To switch between landscape and portrait mode, simply rotate your phone and the display will automatically change thanks to the on board accelerometer which comes in particularly handy when taking photos or playing games.

A new feature available in the C510 is the Smile Shutter technology, which detects a person’s smile and automatically takes a picture. This feature is also part of a firmware update for the 8.1 megapixel C905. Simply press the Smile Shutter shortcut key, and you’re guaranteed to have happy people in your pictures. Your C510 waits for the smile to appear - and when it’s there, the camera automatically snaps the shot.

The C510 has a whole list of camera extra’s such as photo fix, a feature that allows you to improve under exposed photos by adjusting light and colour contrast. Video blogging which allows you to upload any of the videos on your phone straight onto any personal sites you may have and last but by no means least face and auto focusing. Auto focus allows you to take sharp pictures with no fuss. Just let your camera automatically home in on your subject and snap away. Face focus as the title suggests works as a face detection feature which recognises up to three faces in any picture, and automatically sets the focus on them. The Face detection function automatically controls the exposure, too. There is also a camera light and LED flash.

Get quality prints of your pictures delivered straight to your door via Snapfish. You send the print order directly from your phone or skip the online orders and computer and photo editing software. Just connect your phone to a printer, choose an image and print. Simple as that! Alternatively you can take a picture and send it straight to your own personal Web site/s. Friends and family can see what you see - instantly. Ideal for sharing holiday snaps quickly and easily. And you automatically build up an archive over time. Not to forget the C510 also comes with Facebook integrated, which makes staying connected to your friends even easier no matter where you are.

Despite not being a Walkman-branded handset, the Sony Ericsson C510 is still a capable multimedia phone. It uses a tiered media interface similar to most of the Walkman handsets, incorporating photo, music, video and Web feed menus. It even includes a YouTube application in its video menu. Sony Ericsson’s TrackID feature is also present. A2DP Bluetooth and an FM radio are also available, though the lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack or adapter does put a damper on things. For extra storage, a Memory Stick Micro (M2) card slot is included, though there is no card in the sales package. The Sony Ericsson C510 is also HSDPA-capable and includes Bluetooth and USB connectivity as you may have guessed through all its online extras. The C510 is available to buy now on Orange, O2 and 3, so click here for a closer look.
